Rhys Walters

Rhys is a guitarist and teacher passionate about all aspects of the guitar, from electric to classical and covering a wide range of genres for all areas of the guitar. Although his studies began in South Wales where he played and studied both electric and classical guitar, his ambition lead him to Bangor university where he completed his BA and Masters degrees in music. He took a performance heavy direction with his degree and played a wide variety of styles during this time, rock/metal, jazz bands, acoustic/folk and solo classical. This diversity reflects in his approach to teaching meaning he can offer stylistic and theoretical techniques suited to a wide variety of guitarists. Since graduating he has also been a personal guitar teacher for Bangor University assisting electric guitar students pass both BA and Masters degrees. Being comfortable with both the ABRSM and Rock School grading methods, whether your a beginner looking to try guitar for the first time, a recreational player looking to develop skills, or on an academic journey to gain the qualifications you desire Rhys will be able to assist in your journey.

Neil Browning

Neil Browning’s musical interests and teaching activities are extremely varied. As CGWM’s main guitar tutor for over ten years, he teaches all styles from classical to rock, as well as electric guitar groups for Galeri’s Sbarc! project.

He is also in demand in the traditional music scene as a course tutor and workshop leader. Neil has written music for television and played in all kinds of live shows, including touring theatre productions and gigs in Europe and the U.S..

He taught on a variety of music and performing arts courses at Yale F.E. College in Wrexham, where he also gained his P.G.C.E. Most recently, Neil has played and recorded with Cajuns Denbo (accordion), Cardiff-based Rock-roots band Bluehorses (guitar) and Billy Thompson Gypsy Style (guitar), as well as his genre-defying band Never Mind the Bocs, who released their second album in 2014.
